Agree!!

I def can see a thomas Prescher vibe going on! I would be very interested to see when this artists next piece will be! I hope he also makes a triple axis tourbillion :p What I especially like about this watch is how much symbolism and meaning there is beh

Thanks for your comment. I had not come across Vogard before.

Very interesting story, too. The company (founded in 2002 by one man with marketing experience from TAG Heuer) developed, with the help of Thomas Prescher, "the first watch capable of displaying half-hour time zones (as in Nepal, for instance) and Dayligh

Agreed!! I am also a big indie fan!! Here are couple of my fav brands with cool/unsuall displays

While indie watches usually have..... let's just say bismal.... resale valye, they create something truly spectacular that I believe goes much better with the direction that the entire watchmaking industry is heading towards, which is creating works of ar

There is a watch which exists...

Containing an original Zenith Cal 135, but with a new case, dial, and hands created by Thomas Prescher💪. I think it's one of the most beautiful watches which exists. Ownership and photo credit to doobooloo on IG.

Harv not played in this game but as an enthusiastic supporter of the independents I would suggest that of your 3 choices I would choose an UJ only if it is an early one that was designed by Pratt. That was a truly special time for that brand. Otherwise

would shoes the Kati for quality , craftsmanship, esthetic and the man. Going off the ranch a bit look at Roger Smith as another true independent who follows George Daniels’ principles of everything possible made in-house. Note that Dufour used an off the

Independent watchmakers over independent brands.

For me, independent watchmakers as much as independent brand is important. And at a time in their careers when they "benched" their own work, which I suspect the names on the doors of many of the independent brands don't actually do anymore themselves. Th

As others have said it's highly subjective based on what one wants from the watchmaker/ brand.

In your definition of "top notch" I think you should be thinking about "and or" versus solely "and" in many cases as while it could be argued that some indies bring to the table "superb finishing" and "a reputation for remarkable timepieces" some clearly

2019 (did I really just write that? Where does the time go?) reflections on where we've been and where we are going in the watch world.

I just finished reading about Harrison's marine watches and the significance of his H4. The H4 was such an advance in horology that it did change watchmaking for all time. I reflected on my visit to the Patek Phillipe Museum several years ago. When I visi
